I found your engineer both courteous and helpful. He completed a complicated repair in just one hour and even helped me learn how to erase files. I will certainly recommend you to friends and neighbours in future.

Does your child have an iPhone / iTouch? THINK - Parental controls!
I was chatting on Friday to one of our customers who said how much she appreciated our Previous TechTips "Internet Dangers! Protect your Children". She said she then reviewed her own children's internet access, and realised that her 13 year old has an iTouch which she could use to access all sorts of content, and in the privacy of her own bedroom. Hence I was asked:
Could she be protected from accessing inappropriate content on her iTouch?
Well, the answer is YES! iTouch & iPhone devices with the latest software (OS3.0) include options to restrict access to programs such as... READ MORE >> |

TechTips: Internet Dangers! Protect your children
The internet reflects today’s world in so many ways and needs to be treated as such. This means restricting our children from accessing objectionable content, adult themes, and inappropriate language. It also means knowing where they are (ie. which website they are on), who they’re with (ie. who they’re talking to), and what they’re doing.
Social networking websites such as Facebook, Bebo and MySpace can be fun but must be treated with caution. READ MORE >> |

Snowy Scenes
Yes, we're all very aware of the so-called 'blizzard' conditions we're experiencing, but we wanted to let you know that we have remained OPEN throughout! We've managed to get to almost all of our on-site appointments to enable our customers to continue using their computers for work or play during this cold spell.
If you dread the thought of braving the icy roads to get you work perhaps you can work from home. If all you need is access to your work computer then LogMeIn lets you access your work computer from home. All you need to do is install it on your work computer (which must be left on), then go home, go to the LogMeIn website, log in, then click on your work PC. You can check your emails, access network resources, etc. Oh, and it's free. |

We have moved to new premises
Our new location is a beautiful shop front on the corner of Giggs Hill Green on the Portsmouth Road. We're opposite the Jaguar garage and The Angel pub.
With massively increased bench-space, a superior network infrastructure and a more central location we can offer a faster service for our customers.
The fact that we come to you means that for many of you, the only difference you’ll notice is the quicker response times and a faster turnaround for services carried out ‘on bench’ (in our workshop).
If you’ve not used us before and you have a problem with your computer, or you’re looking to upgrade to the new Windows 7 (released on October 22nd), or you’d like to ‘wireless-enable’ your house, or you’d like a backup installed, or you have any other computer-related issue why not give us a call, or pop in for a chat.
Our new address is: 20 Giggs Hill Road, Thames Ditton, Surrey, KT7 0BT (View map)
Our telephone number remains the same: 01372 46 4321 |

So, how does it work? First you go to www.getdropbox.com and sign up for a Dropbox account... READ MORE >> |

Bing - Microsoft's re-branded search engine
Microsoft has replaced it's search engine, 'Live Search', with 'Bing'. It has a new look and feel, a few new features and in my view is certainly an improvement. Try it for yourself: www.bing.com |

Review: The iPhone
It’s the phone everyone’s talking about, so is it any good? I’ve had my iPhone for about 3 months, and I use it intensively. I use it for work, for email, for its diary, as my iPod, for texting, and as a phone.
The first thing to say about it is that it is beautiful, and very cool. But once you get past that, is it any good? Well, the simple answer is no. It’s not good. It’s outstanding. READ MORE >> |

Learn to Touch Type
Is touch typing becoming a lost skill? Most kids now learn how to build a website before they learn the basics of touch typing!
There's a great (free) website which tells you which fingers should press which keys and then gives you exercises to help you practice, starting with easy combinations of letters and getting progressively harder as you become more accomplished. That website is www.sense-lang.org. |

Be warned! Antivirus 2008 is actually SPYWARE
In the last few weeks we have seen a number of computers infected with a spyware program called 'Antivirus 2008' or 'AntiMalwareGuard', sometimes preceded with the words 'Windows' or 'Vista' to give it credibility. DO NOT TRUST, BELIEVE OR PURCHASE ANYTHING THROUGH THIS PROGRAM. Antivirus 2008 can be...READ MORE >> |
