Many people don't realise that there are many phone providers offering cheaper calls to standard telephone numbers (those beginning with 01, 02 or 03), which don't apply to 0844, 0845, 0870 or 0871 telephone numbers.

If you have an 'inclusive landline calls' phone package, then it is very rare that 0844, 0845, 0870, and 0871 numbers are all included in your 'free minutes' allocation, unlike normal numbers. Many mobile phone packages also exclude freephone 0800 and 0808 numbers for your bundled minutes. BT and some other companies are starting to include 0845 and 0870, but this only applies to certain packages, and does not apply to 0844 and 0871 numbers.

Many companies advertise a separate number that can be used when calling from abroad - This usually begins in the format +44 - There is nothing to stop you using this number from the UK (as it is a normal rate telephone call), and will be included in any inclusive minutes provided by your landline or mobile phone provider. Many others will give you a standard number if you ask.

O2 Broadband customer service and technical support numbers are 0800-230-0202 and 800-230-0202. The first number is toll free from landlines as the second one is free from the mobile phones of O2. 24/7 support is provided.

ORANGE

Orange Broadband customer service number is 0844-871-0079, which costs 4.89p a minute from a BT fixedline and offers support from 7 am to 11pm for seven days a week. The ISP’s technical support number is 0844-873-8586, which is also payable by 4.89p for a minute from a BT landline. The support is for 24/7.

PLUSNET

Plusnet Broadband customer services number is 0845-140-0200 that is charged at less call rates and the technical support number is 0845-140-0080 which is also of low rates. The service is for 24/7.

POST OFFICE

Post Office Broadband customer services number is 0845-600-3210, which is on from 7 am to 11pm 24/7. The technical support number of the provider is also the same and is on for 24/7.

SKY

Sky Broadband technical number 08442-410-515 offers 24/7 support and free of cahrge calls for Sky Talk customers. The customer services numbers of the ISP are 08442-411-333 for upgrades and 08442-414-141 for billing are also free for customers of Sky Talk and comes with 24/7 support.
